Rue Gilt Groupe is looking for bright, creative, and passionate students to join our Summer Internship program. This is an exciting opportunity to gain great professional experience, apply your relevant academics and grow professionally. And you can do it at a highly-recognized eCommerce leader in the heart of Boston’s Fort Point District.
The 2019 Summer Internship program is a 10 week unpaid internship. The program is a full time summer commitment of 40 hours per week, open to rising college sophomores, juniors and seniors. You will work closely with talented Rue associates in our vibrant culture and will receive strong mentoring to accelerate your learning.

Purpose & Responsibilities: If you are passionate about engaging our more than 16 million members to fall deeper in love with Rue La La La and Gilt Groupe by creating brand awareness to drive new Members, then this is the role for you. Our team is fun, innovative, dynamic and fast-paced and the ideal candidate will be able to keep up with our madness. The PR & Marketing intern will work across various partners in Creative, Programming, Merchandising and Brand Operation teams to help build, execute and report on our Marketing and PR campaigns. This position is prime for a highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who can work effectively in a team environment and who takes initiative.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of Brand Marketing & Communications on project needs varying from administrative tasks to campaign ideation to reporting to deck creation
- Research trends in the market including speaking engagements, press coverage and influencers
- Collaborate on initiatives in other communication channels as assigned
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed about various PR/Marketing initiatives
- Assist in monitoring market for interesting retail/fashion/eCommerce innovation and communications to incorporate into Rue La La’s playbook
- Weekly monitoring of programming calendar updates
- Manage and update key contact lists of key reporters/contacts
- Draft internal and external communications as needed
- Create and present an assigned or original project to senior management
Qualifications:
- Major in marketing & communications
- Interest in fashion & retail
- Solid writing and research skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
- Experience working in Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple priorities
- Strong teamwork ethic with great communication skills
- Aptitude for taking leadership in a team environment
