Talent Acquisition Partner

Markforged is growing at an exponential rate and we’re looking for a highly-motivated recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment to help build our team. As a trusted business partner, you will partner with our hiring managers across the Go-to-Market (Sales, Marketing and Business Operations) organization to understand their needs, create consistent, strategic interview processes, and close high-quality candidates. 
As a core member of the Talent Acquisition team, you will cover a wide range of activities. As a team, we will focus on enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience. You will need to be proactive, detail oriented, and enthusiastic about scaling teams. 

In this role you will:

  • Manage full-life cycle recruitment across the Go-to-Market organization (Sales, Marketing and Business Operations).
  • Partner with managers to fully understand their business and set recruiting priorities.
  • Focus on building pipeline across assigned departments.
  • Develop and drive an engaging candidate experience.
  • Build recruiting practices from scratch including creating the assessment processes and leveraging market data and expertise.
  • Track all recruiting activity using Lever (our ATS) with a focus on operational excellence and data-driven recruiting practices. 
  • Pre-qualify candidate's backgrounds and accomplishmentsUse data to drive decisions and frequently report recruiting success and improvement opportunities to management.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, personable ambassador of the company at conferences, tech talks, happy hours, career fairs, and other public-facing venues. 
  • Build and maintain a strong network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees.
  • Continuously innovate and look for new and creative ways to attract and select talent.
  • Partner with onboarding team to ensure a seamless candidate to new hire experience. 

What we look for:

  • Proven track record of hiring sales professionals
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 1 year focused on sales roles
  • Start-up experience a plus
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • The ability to grow and manage a high-quality pipeline of candidates
  • Experience cultivating relationships with passive candidates
  • High attention to detail

Our office has periodic happy hours and company offsite parties, as well as a weekly all-hands meeting where different teams present and lunch is served.

What does your typical day look like?

Every day for me is a little different. Typically, I'd start the day by checking on the results of some multi-day experiments or pull parts out of experimental furnace runs for our metal system. Later in the day, I'd kick off the next set of experiments, which could be something like a regular print or a special furnace run.

We're taking risks here with new technology, and we're asking our clients and partners to do a lot of the same, but we have data that shows that it's worth it. And as we move forward, we're going to continue needing the space. Be ready to move fast, learn, and adapt to changes as they come and as we scale.

For the last hundred years, machines have been unaware of what they’re creating and would happily waste millions of dollars producing out-of-spec parts. We’re going to fix that by connecting the machines that make parts, and the ones that inspect them, with a powerful AI software.

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

I think one of the most challenging things as a print systems engineer is learning all the technical and non-technical aspects of our business. We have to know a lot, kind of like a jack of all trades. We have to have our fingers on the pulse of a lot of different teams so that we have a holistic picture of what's going on.
