M.Gemi is seeking a Payroll/HR Specialist who will assist in the administration of payroll and benefits, as well as additional HR functions in a shared services model. This role will report to the Head of People, and will be based in Boston.

Responsibilities of the Role Include

  • Payroll: Administer biweekly payroll including full time employees, hourly employees with overtime calculations, off cycle payroll calculations, special payrolls (bonus, prorate and retroactive), compliance with state and federal withholdings and responding to notices, setting up new states and municipalities as needed.
  • Data: Responsibility for the integrity of the data housed in ADP, entering all new hire information, changes, and terminations.
  • Reporting: Pulling reports from ADP as needed; W2, and ACA reporting
  • Health and Wellness plans: Enrollment, changes, terminations on all benefits sites and partner closely with the Head of People on annual open enrollment.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain complete and accurate employee files in Dropbox and complete employment verifications as needed.

  • Resourceful self-starter who takes initiative and excels in time management. 
  • Ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and complete responsibilities in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  • Ability to balance rigorous attention to detail with swift execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with an encouraging, go-getter attitude.

Exceptional Candidates Will Have

  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Experience in processing payroll (ADP Workforce Now a plus)
  • You must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and analytical to be successful in this role. Other attributes that will help you to be successful are: high touch service philosophy, flexible, and adaptable to startup culture.
  • BA or BS in a related subject and startup experience helpful
  • A desire to want to help build exceptional culture and a great place to work
