You’ll build out the system you’ll live in. We are creating our HRIS/Payroll function from the ground up and you’ll be the one responsible for the entire payroll function for edX. A great candidate for this role will be excited about the advanced level of ownership and accountability required to stand up our payroll function!

Responsibilities:

    • Buildout Dayforce Payroll Module (and others as assigned)
    • Research and enroll edX in appropriate tax jurisdictions for payroll
    • Develop and test payroll policies and procedures
  • From January 2021 onward, you will:
    • Manage the entire payroll function for our hourly and salaried employees, along with overseeing our commission & bonus payrolls, and payroll benefit accruals
    • Support and collaborate with our Accounting team in providing them accurate and effective journal entry reporting documents
    • Manage edX’s enrollment processes in appropriate tax jurisdictions
    • Reconcile payroll to appropriate 3rd party statements (tax, garnishments and benefits primarily)
    • Continually analyze our payroll alongside our FP&A team for trends, opportunities, and anomalies
    • Support our annual audit as it pertains to our employee compensation and benefit accounts
    • Build out our processes and systems in alignment with edX’s needs and growth plans

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a Payroll Administrator (or like role/responsibilities), with proficiency running the entire payroll function, including employee set-up and review, batch review (hourly, salary, commission), payroll processing, auditing and reporting
  • Proficiency in reconciling 3rd party (benefits and taxes primarily) invoices to payroll system deductions
  • Understanding of the open enrollment process and employee set-up within a payroll system
  • Experience enrolling in new tax jurisdictions to support payroll filing requirement (income tax withholding, SUI and other associated payroll taxes)

Nice to have

  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or experience with multiple payroll systems
  • Experience with either converting to a new payroll system or building out a new payroll system

How you will excel

  • You have a passion for payroll and associated responsibilities,
  • Attention to detail is your forte
  • You excel at minutiae, love to connect the dots and perfect reconciliations make you happy
  • You want to work in a fast paced environment that is growing
  • You are a self starter who is comfortable being responsible for and accountable to produce the one thing everyone cares about - did I get paid on time and was it correct,
  • Your comfortable working with a small team to support you in these endeavors
