HR / Office Administrator - Contractor/Temp

In the role of HR and Office Administrator, you will play an exciting dual role supporting overall office administration and HR initiatives. As the Office Administrator, you will organize and coordinate office procedures, including the reception area, to create and maintain a pleasant work environment.
You will also have a key role in supporting various HR processes, in partnership with the HR team. You will play an important role in the planning, facilitation and coordination of HR lifecycle events and new team member on-boarding, as well as HR projects focused on performance, employee development and engagement.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the front office and reception area to ensure effective communications, including voice and email, and maintain professional office image for team members and visitors
Order and maintain office supply inventories; plan and manage orders for company sponsored events
Schedule travel for onsite interviews and new team member orientations
Assist with the planning and execution of company and HR specific events planning, communication and event coordination
Partner with managers to help coordinate the new-hire onboarding process
Support the new hire compliance process and follow up with new hires to ensure completion of required onboarding requirements and documentation
Assist with the processing of employee changes (hires, personal data changes, promotions, terminations) to ensure timely completion.
Provide HR support with preparing presentations, generating monthly and ad hoc reports, sending employee communications, scheduling meetings, and other projects as needed
Support the planning and facilitation of annual HR events to include benefits enrollment, performance review process, Internship program, training sessions and compliance audits
Maintain employee files for accuracy and legal compliance
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and 2-3 years experience in Human Resources is required
Previous experience as an office manager or administrative assistant helpful
Proficiency with Google for Business and Microsoft Office
Comfortable working in a highly visible role; ability to work with senior executives across the organization
Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multitasking to meet departmental goals and project deadlines
Strong communication skills, both oral and written; must have strong attention to detail
Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed
A creative mind with an ability to make suggestions for improvement
Certified Professional credential (PHR, SHRM -CP) helpful, but not required
