HR Associate

We’re looking to hire a Human Resources Associate to provide support for our employees and to build programs that will help us scale. You will be the primary partner for the Manager of HR and the Head of People and Culture as you focus on a range of human resources activities including onboarding, employee engagement and recognition, and performance management.

You will:

  • Act as onboarding and orientation leader for all of edX, owning all program enhancements and updates
  • Promote and increase employee engagement by managing our employee recognition programs, organizing company-wide events, and writing the monthly HR Newsletter
  • Be the first point of contact for most HR questions, including Payroll and Benefits, and independently resolve, or escalate as appropriate
  • Become our HRIS expert, proactively guiding us to fully leverage Namely while maintaining accurate employee information
  • Provide support with employee relations issues in coordination with the Manager of HR
  • Run reports and identify trends in HR data that advance our strategic initiatives around employee engagement and improving the edX culture

Your current experience should include: 

  • A positive, friendly, and approachable attitude
  • Sound judgment and ability to efficiently resolve a variety of sensitive job-related problems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strength in building relationships both internally and externally, with a diverse group of employees at all levels
  • Strong technical skills and experience using all Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, and HR system
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or MS Excel
  • Some experience with any of the following: talent development, people analytics, exit interviews and associated pattern analysis (even as an assistant)
  • Knowledge of state and local employment laws
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
