People Operations (Human Resources) Manager

We are looking for a People Operations Manager to lead all elements of the employee life-cycle and experience at AppNeta. The primary role of the People Operations Manager is to recruit and retain star players across engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success - in both Boston and Vancouver. This person will not only drive team growth, but will also be responsible for defining, developing and implementing ongoing HR policy and strategies at AppNeta, ensuring that we’re embodying our core values.

As a key member of the AppNeta leadership team reporting to the Vice President of Business Operations, you will:

  • Build and oversee all aspects of our HR function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Partner with senior leadership and managers to provide guidance and coaching on recruiting and retention, compensation, organizational structure, change management, employee relations, training and development, performance evaluation and HR policies.
  • Work closely with internal and external recruiters to identify and attract outstanding candidates across all functional areas; help manage the process of recruiting, evaluating, formulating offers, closing and hiring candidates; serve as key liaison to prospective employees.
  • Provide guidance / coaching to all employees in regard to general employee relations matters; conflict resolution; leadership development; and career growth.
  • Review, revise, negotiate and administer comprehensive range of employee benefits programs for US and Canadian operations; manage broker and vendor relationships and ensure competitive features and rates.
  • Evaluate procedures and technology solution to improve human resources data management.
  • Shape company culture with policies, practices and recommendations to accomplish company goals.
  • Oversee employment law compliance and manage risk; consult with / manage outside employment counsel as necessary.
  • Be knowledgeable about our business, markets, products, customers, competitive advantages, team, and culture.

Professional Qualifications & Experience:

  • A successful track record and competency in outbound recruiting, particularly for sales and engineering roles.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of People Operations or broader HR experience, ideally across both early stage and larger high growth technology/SaaS companies
  • BA/BS preferably in Human Resources Management or equivalent; MA/MS a plus .
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience performing HR-related financial analysis and communicating results to colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Experience in development and implementation of salary administration and employee benefits plans and administration; experience building and maintaining key broker / vendor relationships.
  • Solid understanding of MA and US employment laws with Canadian experience a strong advantage; international experience (EMEA and/or APAC) a plus.
