About the role

The Front End Engineer will design, develop and maintain an Angular JavaScript- based user interface hosted in an AWS environment, that helps customers visualize and make use of the large amounts of IoT data uploaded by smartphone applications. Self sustaining scrum teams deliver code to production without external dependencies, using continuous delivery. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with backend technologies, such as Python, SQL and NoQSL, and can demonstrate the ability to write scalable, maintainable, testable and secure products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, validate, maintain, release, and operate TrueMotion frontend application
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensures the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Takes initiative to request/obtain necessary training required to complete assigned tasks
  • Participates in SCRUM team planning, and technical meetings

Desired skills

  • 3+ years in frontend engineering experience (Angular / Javascript preferred)
  • Good understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with JavaScript build and test automation technologies (e.g. Webpack, Karma, Jasmine, and Protractor).
  • Basic understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic knowledge of image editing tools
  • Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Design and document systems, including writing and reviewing code.
  • Collaborative work ethic

Pluses

  • Understanding of AWS services.
  • Coding skills in at least one backend programming language. Python is preferred.
  • Experience with Linux, nginx, SQL, NoSQL solutions
