Role overview
We're looking for an experienced and ambitious VP, FP&A to join our Finance team to lead and grow CarGurus' FP&A function and team based in our Cambridge, MA headquarters.
We are specifically looking for Finance professionals who have worked or are currently working in a fast growth public company and have experience with both subscription and transactional business models. The FP&A team drives the financial planning, revenue forecasting, budgeting and other financial metrics for the company. Come join CarGurus during an outstanding growth period!
What you'll do
- Serving as a primary finance partner to the global CarGurus org; leading the end-to-end financial planning including P&L, BS and Cash Flows.
- Leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, including management reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Developing and building a successful team that produces rich insights, plans, and forecasts with a high degree of clarity and accuracy.
- Maintaining dashboards to supervise key performance measurements and monitor business performance.
- Providing management with insights into drivers of revenue and expenses, as well as risks and opportunities.
- Evaluating and advising on growth opportunities such as new product launches, international marketing, business model changes, and M&A.
- Structuring, building, and maintaining complex financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
- Identifying and driving cross-functional initiatives to improve process, systems and automation to help the business scale
What you'll bring
- 10+ years of directly applicable experience with time spent in FP&A within a public, fast growth, technology company
- A great teammate and experience managing a small, but impactful FP&A team
- Experience managing to a global P&L across multiple business units and regions
- Public company experience
- Superb analytical/quantitative and communication skills and strong executive presence
- Ownership mentality and proven track record to independently drive projects to completion, with high attention to detail
- Demonstrated thought leadership and manages relationships with senior partners
- An attitude to challenge the status quo, managing with a sense of urgency through ambiguities with a desire to consistently improve
- Adaptive Insights and NetSuite experience is a plus
