Treasury Consultant
The Opportunity
As a critical member of the Derivatives, Collateral and Securities Pricing team the Derivative/ Collateral Consultant will work with multiple Corporate Units, Lines of Business (LOBs), Investment Managers, and subsidiaries to provide oversight, analysis and complex processing of various derivative and collateral transactions related to MassMutual and its portfolio. The Consultant will work with members of the Program Management Office for Investments (PMOfI) to assist in formulating and defining business and/ or systems scope, requirements and objectives as it relates to Derivatives and Collateral Operations. The individual will also apply finance, investment accounting knowledge and other technical skills to provide oversight related to the current and future state needs.
The Team
The consultant will report to the Head of Derivatives, Collateral and Securities Pricing a part of MassMutual Investment Operations Team within the Investment Management Division. The team is responsible for the investment pricing and the derivative middle office, including trade processing, cash settlements, collateral management and data management related to the MassMutual's General Investment Account (GIA). The team is diligently working on a multi-year project related to the transformation of MassMutual's Derivatives and Collateral Platform. The effort entails the implementation of one stop shopping for Derivatives, including a front, middle and back office solution.
The Impact:
- Work independently and with management on high visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects
- Manage derivative and collateral operational aspects of complex transactions and new mandates Oversight of various collateral types
- Assist in implement new regulations related to Collateral and Derivatives
- Responsible for Derivative trade settlements and interest payment processing
- Assist in managing complex cash management position of derivative products and collateral
- Analysis for payment discrepancy review and resolution
- Analysis and review of positions reconciliation
- Work in conjunction with team members, internal and external business partners to research and accommodate new derivative products traded by the investment manager
- Advances the interest of the company by serving on teams that are external to the organization when appropriate
- Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
- Anticipates change, looks for trends and directs or redirects efforts

The Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of investment operations experience with an understanding of systems and data management.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Understanding of the Investment Management process and the related data flows.
- Understanding of a wide range of asset classes and how investment information for such asset classes is used.
- Ability to work with investment data consumers to analyze, understand issues and assist in issue resolution.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to address and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
