Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will help be a core player supporting and informing Cogo and its businesses with our accounting needs as we rapidly scale to 30 concurrent companies. You will execute on a subset of our core accounting functions, partnering with the Controller and Senior Accountant to deliver accurate and timely financials to our businesses. You’ll get to collaborate with our big-swing and high impact projects across the incubator, providing financial tracking and expertise on how to setup and grow their businesses. You will be a key contributor in our financial operations, adhering to our accounting standards and best practices, and helping to improve and automate our processes so that we constantly heighten our impact across the org.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, validate, and pay invoices per best practices

• Administer billing and collections efforts, reconciling our revenues, creating invoices, and managing the aging schedule

• Prepare and record semi-monthly payroll reconciliations and journal entries

• Support Senior Accountant and Controller with monthly close activities

• Support Controller with ongoing compliance, regulatory filings, and reports

• Maintain Cogo's accounting standards and best practices, and contribute to process and system improvement efforts

• Support our high-impact projects and companies to deliver on their financial needs

About you:

• Bachelor's degree, concentration in accounting or finance preferred

• 2+ years of accounting experience, executing on multiple accounting functions for a private company

• Direct experience working in multiple accounting tools; Netsuite a plus

• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and can execute tasks within strict deadlines

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects in fast-paced environments

• Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to handle sensitive financial data

• Strong communicator and collaborator with teammates and stakeholders
