Nuance is currently hiring a Senior Tax Manager-Compliance that will be working out of our Burlington, MA HQ facility once we return to our offices sometime in 2021. This individual’s primary responsibilities will include all Domestic Tax Compliance for Federal and State returns and special projects based on the needs of the tax department. They will be responsible for leading a team of 2 tax professionals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform quarterly and year-end tax accounting computations timely and accurately, including specific US tax calculations and U.S. International Calculations
- Responsible for all tax compliance matters, including reviewing of Federal and State tax returns and manage ongoing tax audits
- Work effectively with other finance departments and compile data required for tax computations and filings
- Supervise preparation and approve the monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local indirect tax returns prepared by service providers
- Collaborate with Order Management, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable as the point of contact for indirect sales tax matters including approval of tax exemptions
- Liaison with third party advisors for sales tax compliance
- Maintain and review reconciliation process to ensure completeness of data, accurate tax filings, and recording proper books and records
- Establish and monitor direct and indirect compliance calendar and process to ensure timely filings
- Oversee processes and controls to effectively track, report, and retain documentation for tax exemptions and tax audits
- Identify process efficiencies and implement technology where appropriate
- Maintain effective tax controls
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA or MST preferred)
Years of Experience: 8-10 years of experience with a multinational company and/or accounting firm
Required Experience:
- Strong research and quantification skills in working with IRS code
- OneSource income tax compliance software experience (Corptax or similarly other related software is also acceptable)
- Deep experience completing various corporate tax returns with a variety of complexities
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience in working in a fast paced, nimble team environment
