Job Description

The Payroll Manager will be the primary person responsible for preparation, processing and maintenance of domestic and international payroll records. This position plays a key role Accounting and Finance organization. We’re looking for a candidate who is a customer focused, efficient and thrives in an environment when provided the autonomy and authority to perform their responsibilities.

As the Payroll Manager your responsibilities would include the following:

  • Compile and prepare multi-state domestic payroll, using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Initiate international payroll with 3rd party service providers in the United Kingdom and Canada.
  • Collection and validation of payroll inputs; including time records, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Provide proactive recommendations for the development and implementation of improved payroll controls and processes.
  • Maintain a payroll calendar to ensure others in the organization of aware of important payroll deadlines.
  • Respond to payroll related inquiries from employees as the company payroll expert.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to facilitate a customer-centered approach to resolve issues, determine service level agreements, and drive process improvement
  • Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately for time, earnings, benefits, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other items that affect pay and/or company liability.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local tax withholding and filing requirements.
  • Remit and reconcile 401k and HSA contributions with outside providers.

Assist in managing the 401(k) and workers compensation audits

Qualifications

  • Degree specializing in HR, Business or related field, OR equivalent work experience in human resources/payroll within a business environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.
  • Proven experience processing payroll for a complex multi-state company.
  • Solid comprehension of wage, hour requirements, taxation requirements.
  • Experience working for a SaaS company a plus.
  • Experience with ADP and NetSuite, or equivalent systems.

Skills:

  • A self-starter able to prioritize day-to-day and longterm projects.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence and to adapt to changing business needs
