Job Description
The Opportunity:

To support our continued growth, we, at Flywire, are seeking a dedicated and experienced compliance associate, reporting to our Global Compliance Director based in Boston.
This will be a varied role working within our Compliance team, with responsibility for leading our Global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) Operations function, including developing and executing processes to detect and assess possible compliance and risk issues and fraud. Experience in performing KYC due diligence on new and existing clients, familiarity and use of KYC and transaction monitoring technology tools and systems, developing policies and procedures, leading projects, quickly understanding new ideas and concepts, a background in financial compliance, knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other regulations is required. A strong foundation in evaluation of underlying beneficial ownership (UBO) structures of educational institutions, medical/hospital facilities and businesses required.
Serve as a subject matter expert on client acceptance, evaluating possible money laundering, fraud, and other risks clients may present.
Oversee a team of Compliance analysts located around the globe.
Work with local AML Officers to handle all compliance issues relating to client onboarding and KYC
Track and maintain records of the status of each outstanding case.
Responsible for reviewing and resolving all outstanding cases.
Assist in regulatory reporting where required.
Help design and implement Compliance related technology and process enhancements
Responsible for periodic review of existing clients (High Risk, Standard Risk, PEP).
Review AML transaction monitoring, fraud and sanction screening alerts.
To provide leave cover for other team members, as required.
Work closely to respond to requests from sales teams and account managers.
Any other tasks as assigned by the department
Qualifications
Here's What We're Looking For:
- Diploma holder
5- 10+ years of experience in financial services compliance
Solid understanding of financial crime typologies and fraud analysis
Familiarity with global KYC, UBO and AML and sanctions standards (e.g., source of financial support, ultimate ownership)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; global collaborator with strong communications skills
The ability to lead by example and provide directional guidance to other team members and internal clients
The ability to work on a flexible schedule - Flywire is a global company and meetings at odd hours do happen periodically
A strong attention to detail with an ability to execute tasks within a small and flexible team
The ability to organize workload to meet deadlines and manage competing and sometimes changing priorities
A proven track record of execution and delivery of tasks through to completion

Our Hiring Process:
We are excited to get to know you! Throughout our process you can expect 4-5 rounds of interviews with different FlyMates including the Hiring Manager, Peers on the team, the VP of the department, and a homework assignment (it is not that bad!).
