The Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will serve as a key member of the corporate financial leadership team. This position reports directly to the CFO. The FP&A department will play a critical role as we chart the path forward for Agero.
Key Outcomes:
- Learn the business: 50+ clients and hundreds of programs with nuances in every engagement
- Understand the financial model and levers of the company from top to bottom.
- Take control of company pricing and all client facing financial data
- Develop, build and maintain a cadence of management and Board reporting on a monthly, quarterly, annual and as a basis for three year planning
- Advise the CFO and management team on opportunities and issues in the business through rigorous and thoughtful financial analysis and planning.
The Head FP&A will be primarily responsible for:
- Delivering value-added business analysis as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decision-making. The Head of FP&A will be responsible for overseeing a financial planning organization that has a comprehensive understanding of all key business drivers and sophisticated financial models that enable the team to deliver insightful, value-added analysis across the company.
- Delivering pricing, business line and commercial support for the business. Client and program level profitability, partnering with sales and client services for renewals, new logos, RFP pricing and planning the businesses for sustained growth and profitability.
- Supervise and manage a team of 6 staff members and financial analysts.
- Oversee the financial planning and analysis organization and partner with the management team to provide value-added insight into the business.
- Prepare a monthly reporting package that includes full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
- Drive an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives.
- Own all company pricing for new and existing clients, RFP’s, and other client facing activities.
- Report on and be a business partner to sales and client services for program and client level profitability.Work with client services to help them understand and Develop and monitor the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, which shall include establishing budget tools, setting timelines and acting as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
- Prepare and monitor the company’s long range strategic planning models.
- In partnership with the head of sales, maintain and calculate all commissions.
- Function as a Key Business Partner to all departments and business unit leaders.
- Provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, new product development, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.
- Preparing analysis, commentary and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly financial review meetings, include Board Meetings.
- Actively own key finance and business process, and implementing and modifying as required the company-wide budgeting tools. Provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.
- Develop and enhance competitive intelligence, customer intelligence, geographic economic data and technology trends.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
Education, Experiences and Skills:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline. MBA or Master’s degree in related field or advanced financial certification a plus.
EXPERIENCE: 10-15 years of progressive experience in financial planning, financial analysis and financial management. Excellent financial modeling experience required. Experience with tier-1 financial systems such as Oracle or Lawson, experience with Prophix financial software a plus. Experience with analytics tools such as Cognos, Brio, etc.
SKILLS: Detail oriented, possess excellent communication skills and a high sense of urgency, highly analytical, and conscientious with an ability to motivate and lead teams by example.
