Financial Reporting Analyst
DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst is a highly motivated and effective analytical resource who has a commitment to quality and accuracy and demonstrates common sense problem-solving. Gathers necessary information required for thorough financial analysis and analyzes, interprets, and concisely reports conclusions. Provides analytical support to multiple business partners and works to help identify business risks and opportunities, financial variance drivers and other analysis as needed. Helps to manage analytical source data for optimal results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for monthly reporting and involved in producing monthly reporting package.
- Participate in month end close process and monthly reporting of results.
- Participates in the reconciliation process for client programs as necessary.
- Serve as support to the system administrator for the Financial Reporting System.
- Helps manage the databases of pertinent information for use in financial analysis, forecasts, and plans.
- Identifies cost saving and revenue generating opportunities and provides the organization with recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Participate in business analysis needs. Gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly
- Ad hoc analysis as needed.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
- College Degree or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years finance experience.
- Experience with Oracle financial systems, Brio, and Prophix a plus.
SKILLS:
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Analytical, detail oriented, independent, decision making ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
