The SP&D work follows a proven methodology to quickly drive an organization to toward its aspirational goals while improving business results.? It includes several phases ? such as establishing a top down view of potential opportunities and ?Bottom Up Planning,? which is an idea generation and organic development of initiatives that achieve long-term value.?
Role Summary
The Financial Management Consultant is an integral part of the Strategic Planning and Delivery (SP&D) organization. He/she is responsible for approving SP&D initiatives through multiple stage gates, enforcing SP&D policies to maintain the financial and data integrity of SP&D, preparing financial reports, and conducting analysis of SP&D initiatives, performance or financial results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coach initiative owners and Workstream Leads on valuing initiatives, key performance metrics and SP&D financial guidance
- Sign off on financial impacts of initiatives
- Review and approve SP&D initiatives through stage gates
- Apply business judgment to both eliminate improperly valued initiatives and potential overlaps?
- Prepare reports and presentation materials for Head of Strategic Planning and Delivery Finance and other senior leaders
- Conduct analysis on SP&D initiatives and their impact on the general ledger, operational budgets & financial forecasts
- Develop reports on SP&D financial progress
- Enforce SP&D policies related to financial requirements of SP&D initiatives
REQUIREMENTS?
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of work experience involving accounting, finance, pricing, auditing and/or complex budgeting
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Exceptional financial knowledge; understanding on drivers of profitability within businesses?
- An ability to work with and challenge senior leaders
