As we continue to bolster our industry-leading product, we are growing the team that will take Catalant to the next level, investing across the board in our people and products. Catalant is looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, supporting all groups within the organization. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Accounting, the position will work closely with the VP and the CFO to build and refine our FP&A function.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional to join and help build our FP&A function. You will own the budgeting and forecasting processes, build financial and operational models, perform variance analysis on key metrics, and support strategic financial projects. The right candidate will have a deep passion for growth-stage tech companies, an operational mindset, and the ability to think critically and innovatively to solve complex problems. This is an individual contributor role, with potential opportunity for a leadership role as we continue to grow the team.
What you'll do
- Own the annual budget and periodic forecast cycles between Finance and different teams
- Create and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts to support short-term and long-term strategic planning
- Be the go-to person for all aspects of the companies financial plan, developing and managing changes to the model throughout the year.
- Own the company’s Cash Flow and Balance Sheet forecast leveraging input from Accounting
- Develop a deep understanding of expense drivers and assumptions in order to articulate risks and opportunities to the forecast.
- Partner with executive leadership to prepare Board of Director materials, management presentations, and quarterly guidance
- Analyze and interpret actual financial performance versus our operating plan – including providing insights on key variance drivers, and preparing analysis for operational leaders
- Help develop and report on KPIs to drive business performance and track growth initiatives
- Support process improvement initiatives across the Finance function
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders on a variety of strategic and operational projects
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or a related field
- 5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience
- Excel guru and have the ability to build advanced financial models
- Experience in high growth start-up or similar environment
- Solid understanding of accounting (US GAAP) and finance fundamentals
- Exceptional critical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Highly collaborative approach and enjoy working with multiple teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Expert multitasker and can manage multiple projects and priorities with ease
- Experience working with Netsuite, Salesforce and/or Microsoft Power BI is a plus
