Director, Contracts & Incentive Compensation

The Opportunity:
The Director of Contracts and Pricing Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of contract administration and commissions. This position ensures proper departmental controls and consistency throughout the department. This role leads a team that delivers a high level of customer satisfaction as it relates to (1) pricing analysis, strategy and negotiation for new customers and customer renewals, (2) summary reporting, (3) commissions planning, design and administration and (4) timely responsiveness to customer contract inquiries. This role is expected to strongly partner within the Finance Department to ensure alignment with GAAP accounting standards as well as alignment with the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
This position will report to the Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development a high performing, and highly engaged team that supports the execution and analysis of new and existing customer contracts.
Evaluates/monitors customer contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts.
Participate in regular business reviews for new and existing business, including pricing, Statement of Work (SOW) verification, and terms and conditions verification.
Facilitate internal review of agreements and support the commercial execution of customer contracts. Provide contract interpretation and risk assessment to internal clients as needed.
Assists with managing customer escalations and processes, working directly with our customers (external& internal) and cross-functionally on resolution ensuring all issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Understand and ensure all contracts and subsequent derived invoicing and revenue calculations align with appropriate company standards and GAAP revenue recognition policies and standards.
Develop effective working relationships with leaders at all levels of the organization to understand needs and provide consultation for the collection of information, feedback, and approvals from deal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Legal, Sales, Customer Success etc.) during the customer contracting process.
Evaluate operational/financial systems or procedures: develop and recommend new/revised methods for process and automation improvements and implement solutions.
Partner with Accounting team to prepare any necessary documentation for external and internal audits.
Create the strategy, design and operationalization of incentive compensation plans across the Sales and Customer Success Organization.
Author policies, resolve compensation exceptions, conduct training, and maintain compliance controls.
Responsible for efficient processes and timely monthly close processes to meet tight deadlines.
Work with key business partners to implement processes, systems and tools to improve compensation administration, communication and analysis.
Day-to-day management of the sales compensation program.
Role Qualifications & Desires:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
8+ years of experience in accounting, preferably managing contracts and contractual operations in a corporate environment
5+ years experience supporting sales teams in creating, designing, and operationalizing incentive compensation plans
5+ years of management experience
Ability to lead projects and work with key stakeholders cross-functionally
Familiar with revenue recognition policies as it relates to GAAP
Working knowledge of billing systems and related processes inclusive of contract administration.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
