Our talented interdisciplinary team in Waltham, MA is growing! We are looking for the kind of people who are inspired just not by exciting technology, but by the opportunity to help build an engineering culture of rigor and excellence.

We are seeking a Test Engineer to help us build and implement our system level test function at Veo. This newly crafted role will support the design effort from the beginning of the design process through to verification and validation testing. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to shape engineering testing at Veo and to build a culture of prototyping and testing early and often.

We have an immediate need for a hands-on individual contributor, but there is room for the right person to grow into a leadership role within this function.

You will:

  • Work with design engineers to design for testability from day one of the development process
  • Develop and document test plans, and help generate creative test methods to evaluate the performance of systems comprised of sensors, software, and robots
  • Execute test plans for everything from the subsystem level up to fully integrated robotic workcells
  • Identify triage, and document issues found during testing
  • Support system engineering in the development, maintenance, and communication of technical risk analyses

You are:

  • A creative and rigorous test engineer with 2+ years experience in product development and product level engineering testing, including verification and validation testing, for complex hardware/software products
  • Excited to tackle complex multi-functional problems, determine root cause, corrective action, document findings, and drive system issues to closure
  • Adept at clearly summarizing and presenting complex test data and test status
  • Comfortable supporting a structured product development process required for functional safety certification
  • An effective communicator and collaborator
  • Willing to operate outside your area of direct expertise to solve hard problems with the rest of our cross-disciplinary team

Bonus points:

  • Experience in industrial automation, industrial robotics/controls engineering
  • Experience with 3D sensors, computer vision, and/or robotics
  • Design and prototyping skills: CAD, 3D printing, soldering, cabling, Python scripting, etc
  • Experience in regulated environments such as medical devices/ISO 13485 or functional safety/IEC 61508/ISO 13849, DO-178C/DO-254 or IEC 26262
