As a Technical Operations Analyst for Bullhorn, you will play a key role in supporting Bullhorn’s Technical Operations teams. You will be responsible for working with various technical teams within Bullhorn (Technical Operations, DevOps, Architecture, Support, Information Security, others) to gather, assess, and present metrics that help drive our continuous improvement initiatives. The primary focus of the Operations Analyst will be providing operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to the Technical Operations team.
Why this job is important
Through acquisitions and organic growth, Bullhorn’s infrastructure and operations engineering teams are scaling rapidly and globally. To support that growth, we need an Operations Analyst to mature our reporting and dashboarding, conduct data analysis to highlight areas for operational improvement, and champion a continuous improvement model (through Data Driven Decisions) within Bullhorn. Bullhorn has a broad technology portfolio that needs to interact seamlessly for our Bullhorn One initiative to be a success. To do so will require a keen focus on operational data/metrics and using them to deliver clear telemetry and observability within our systems.
As an Operations Analyst (BTO), a typical day might include:
Leading and directing all phases of operational metrics, helping define SLOs/SLIs, ensuring tools thresholds are calibrated and accurate, ensuring feedback to technical teams
Designing dashboards to reflect system/infrastructure performance and true user experience metrics
Data mining in a variety of tools (ELK, SolarWinds, Icinga, PagerDuty, Prometheus, MS SQL, etc.) and producing concise, clear summaries for operational consumption.
Producing weekly and monthly BTO metrics reports
Presenting process changes and ideas to senior management for enhancements related to operational effectiveness.
Working with cross-functional teams to mature the continuous improvement processes within the operations teams (reduce toil/churn).
Actively contributing to our incident management process and providing key data/metrics for teams
Assisting technical teams in diagnosing the root cause of system issues by correlating data across various aspects of our technical infrastructure
This job might be for you if:
You have 5+ years experience in cloud operations.
You have 3+ years working experience in global, multi-cloud SaaS environments
You have a proven track record of establishing and maturing operational metrics
You have experience using logging tools (ELK, Splunk, SumoLogic, etc.) to drive operational improvements. Proven experience with writing queries, performing captures, and analyzing/parsing logs is mandatory.
You can develop a metrics program with reporting capabilities (Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) and data visualization.
You pride yourself on your ability to prioritize tasks, issues, escalations, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
You excel at developing strong partnerships with cross-functional teams and bring multiple communication styles and work types together to accomplish a common goal.
You inspire trust through your demonstrated competence, confidence and professionalism
Bonus points for:
Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or similar technical field
Experience with Cloud operations/systems/technology projects
Experience working in the SaaS model of delivery
Expertise in data mining/collection
Experience in using JIRA and/or Smartsheet
Experience with data visualization tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, NewRelic, etc.)
