We are seeking an Analog Design Staff Engineer for the wireless charging team in our Watertown, MA facility supporting high power electric vehicle applications. Projects will focus on developing products from concept through design, development, verification, release to manufacturing and support with the end goal of delivering cost-effective automotive products.Tasks will include circuit modeling and design, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout and test. Candidates must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate designs of new, complex analog and mixed signal electronics to support automotive position and physical object detection systems
  • Analyze, simulate, design, implement, debug, and characterize analog control systems
  • Contribute to the PCB and packaging design and prototyping efforts, including developing functional and design specifications, test and qualification procedures
  • Organize and perform prototyping and simulation efforts, direct and coordinate in-house and external prototype fabrication efforts
  • Support new technology development initiatives and other critical projects
  • Communicate/collaborate with various team members, both verbal and written, on technical information regarding electronic and electrical system design and performance

Requirements:

  • BSEE required; Advanced degree in electrical engineering is highly desirable but comparable experience in analog circuit design and development will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in analog electronics design, analysis, modeling, and testing
  • Demonstrated competency and innovation with analog filter, operational amplifier and A/D converter designs.  Low power RF sensor design experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to take designs from concept through to mass production; candidate must have experience designing for cost and regulatory compliance (e.g. FCC, UL, CE), and release to manufacturing
  • Proficient with Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Testing, and Design for Compliance best practices
  • Additional desirable skills/experience:
    • Micro-controller subsystem design
    • Experience with SPI/CAN/USB/MODBUS interfaces
    • Altium, LabView; C/C++
    • Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Power Analyzer, Signal Generator operation 
    • Automotive and industrial applications
  • Energetic team player who is fully engaged with the success of the business and a willingness to do what is necessary to get the job done
  • Strong Engineering lab bench skills are required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
