As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll work within agile, cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. You will lead automation efforts by streamlining the test automation process- building, maintaining, and troubleshooting robust automation coverage for our frontend and backend. You will collaborate with our high-caliber team on requirements and design, providing best practices through mentoring, code reviews, and knowledge transfers. This position requires strong automation skills and offers a unique opportunity to be a central part of our shift to automating regression testing. You will help the team evolve to a more automation-centric organization as our product rapidly evolves to provide business values to the customers.
The ideal candidate will be able to work with a complex enterprise cloud solution to deliver quality releases by providing automation coverage, work with DevOps CI/CD, and being able to run a large scale, cross-functional automation frameworks covering frontend/UI, backend, API, as well as performance. While being challenged to create innovative solutions and work with other amazing developers, architects, to help evolve our automation framework and strategy on the next generation of our products.
What you'll do:
- Develop and generate test cases, scripts, plans (manual and automated) for Catalant products.
- Be a champion for automation-focused QA culture, working with our Product, Design, and Engineering teams to drive automation and CI/CD tools and frameworks
- Develop reliable and maintainable scripts while finding creative and scalable solutions to challenging problems
- Test and peer review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
- Work in small engineering groups with a strong impetus to innovate, drive end-to-end ownership, and meet critical business goalsCollaborate and work with distributed teams in the process of being exposed to a range of technologies, best practices, and solution patterns
- Troubleshoot, and conduct root cause analysis of the product defects or automation framework optimizations
- Provide feedback on current software quality and customer experience of new and existing features
- Display great attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure, agile environment
- Work independently and in tandem with other development team members with various skills, technologies, and backgrounds
- Manage multiple priorities and projects, taking initiative and solving problems creatively and positively
- Provide technical assistance, best practices, and training to other team members or departments
- Learn new technologies and skills that benefit the team, product, and company
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years experience in Quality Assurance with an increased level of responsibilities
- 3+ years with frontend and/or backend automation framework
- Strategic understanding of automation tools and frameworks (Selenium / WD)
- Hands-on ability to implement frameworks and automated regression tests in cloud environments
- Demonstrated experience testing SaaS applications, web service APIs, and mobile applications
- Demonstrated experience synthesizing, summarizing, and providing reporting on project status, application health, and automation defect trends.
- Experience mentoring employees to grow their relevant skillset and make important contributions to overall company goals
- Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum, SAFe, or similar)
- Strong knowledge in SQA methodology and different test types
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Working experience with GitHub, Jira, Jenkins
- Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to translate details to non-technical peers
- Proficiency with IDE-based development
- Experience working with source code management suites
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

We have a flexible hybrid work model, where employees local to our Boston headquarters come into our office on a flexible basis, and other employees are fully remote.
