As a Senior Engineer in a newly formed QA team, you shall be responsible for defining, creating and executing manual QA test case suites and formulate these suites into an automation framework for regression testing. We are seeking a Senior Automation Quality Assurance Engineer who has experience with automation framework design and implementation with the goal of automating and creating smoke regression test suites in various aspects of the Shyft product line. The ideal candidate will possess strong backend testing, data validation, and have an expert level of ability to extend a code driven automation framework as well as script and execute automation test suites in the build pipeline. This position is located in our Waltham, MA office and reports directly to the Manager of Software Quality Assurance

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute Test Plans, Test Cases and Automation Test Scripts for the SHYFT product lines (analytics and insights).
  • Have an expertise with complex data structures, with the ability to write simple SQL queries and backend data (parallel) validation.
  • Create test automation frameworks and implement testing suites from scratch to meet the testing needs of the organization. For example, a working knowledge of Automation concepts and tools; create a QA project, track results, and organize testing metrics and calculations.
  • Prioritize and escalate issues in relation to importance for a given project or customer risk assessment.
  • Interface credibly with internal and external cross-functional teams in the process of gathering platform design and functionality requirements.
  • Have a working knowledge and be an active Scrum team member.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks in the SDLC process and give recommendations and/or feedback for all known issues.

Position Requirements

  • Object Oriented Programing experience, such as C#, Java or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with testing frameworks, such as NUnit, JUnit, TestNG or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify elements in a DOM with syntax such as XPath and CSS.
  • Proven experience scripting in continuous integration and delivery tools such as Appveyor, Bamboo, Jenkins, AWS and etc
  • Proven experience translating software requirements/stories into accurate and complete test scenarios, including identifying the detailed test data and environment needs.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; with the ability to evangelize quality within the organization.
  • Extensive working experience with SDLC best practices, preferably in a SCRUM environment.

  • (Desired):

  • Knowledge of analytical approaches, statistical techniques and relevant technologies for healthcare industry.
  • Possess the ability to mentor and train team members on all aspects of automation methodologies and scripting.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree with engineering, business or scientific focused curriculum preferred. MBA or masters level degree in business, life science, or healthcare related fields a plus.
  • Must have at least of 8+ years QA/Testing experience (prefer at least 3 years of automation experience).
