Software Engineer, Cohere Health, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts (Hybrid)

Company Overview:

Cohere Health is illuminating healthcare for patients, their doctors, and all those who are important in a patient’s healthcare experience, both in and out of the doctors office.  Founded in August, 2019, we are obsessed with eliminating wasteful friction patients and doctors experience in areas that have nothing to do with health and treatment, particularly for diagnoses that require expensive procedures or medications.  To that end, we build software that is expressly designed to ensure the appropriate plan of care is understood and expeditiously approved, so that patients and doctors can focus on health, rather than payment or administrative hassles.

Opportunity overview:

Will work as a member of a Software Engineering Team responsible for building and managing impactful healthcare technology on a modern technology stack.

What you will do:

  • Working on fast-paced, autonomous, Agile teams to build and enhance a growing software platform.
  • Owning end to end feature releases and platform enhancements.
  • Actively participating in the technical design process, bringing your expertise and analysis to help make data-driven decisions.
  • Contributing heavily to feature design, development, testing, and delivery of our cloud platform and web applications.
  • Contributing across all parts of our platform from the database to the front-end.
  • Actively participating in ensuring Cohere maintains a disciplined approach to healthcare security.

Your background & requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, IT, or a closely related field and 6 months of experience in designing and developing enterprise-level software applications (which can be gained through internship experience). Must also have had 6 months of experience (which can include internship experience and can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

  • Building and deploying full-stack web applications;
  • Building applications using Javascript, React, Typescript, Java, Spring, NoSQL technologies, including MongoDB and Elasticsearch;
  • Building and managing data infrastructure using AWS, Terraform and Jenkins;
  • Common software development practices including version control, unit testing, agile methodologies, and CI/CD;
  • Leveraging test frameworks using at least two of the following: Cypress, Selenium, Mocha, JUnit, and Cucumber.
