Perceptive Automata is using our understanding of human behavior combined with computer vision and machine learning to help make autonomous vehicles safer for others on (or near) the road.

Our growing Advanced R&D team spearheads the exploration and prototyping of cutting-edge software techniques that feed into our production product pipeline. The results of these efforts significantly impact a wide range of ongoing projects throughout the organization including in-vehicle perception/prediction, model training/evaluation, data analysis, and simulation.

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of projects associated with building out perception capabilities that support the improvement and evaluation of our core technology.

Strongly Preferred Skills & Background

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
• 2-5 years building software for commercial or research purposes
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills
• Strong communication skills -- both written and verbal
• Extensive experience with a wide range of perception topics, including many of the following:
• Calibration of camera and/or depth sensors
• Sensor fusion of camera and/or depth sensors
• Visual Odometry, SfM, SLAM, and extensions with other sensors
• Computational photography

Also Helpful

• Experience developing a commercial AV stack is a plus but isn’t strictly required
• Experience working with various types of cameras, LIDAR, and other sensors would be useful in this role
• Familiarity with CNNs and other machine learning topics
• Previous contributions to research efforts with publications in peer-reviewed journals
