POSITION: Software Engineer II

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Position will function independently to serve as a core member of the Core Experience Team, focused on growing online membership and bringing travelers a personalized travel journey; serve as a senior member of the engineering team to lead the delivery of exceptional user experience; establish action plans for coding activities independently for team members to act upon; Analyze code at every level- from views and animations to designing architecture, networking operations, unit tests and deployment; independently write more complex code at every level, request and delegate initial drafts of code from junior engineers, and review code written by junior engineers to provide feedback solutions where needed; mentor junior engineers; Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to define and review feature specifications; work side-by-side with engineers at all levels.

REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a Masters degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and a related field plus one (1) year of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered, or in a related position. Experience must include the following: Demonstrable programming experience with Object Oriented languages including Java, Objective C, and Swift; Demonstrable experience with Data structures and Object Oriented Design; Demonstrable experience with Relational Databases (Postgres); Demonstrable web UI development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6, React.js, and LESS; Demonstrable experience with application servers such as JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat or Apache; Demonstrable knowledge of native iOS application development.
