POSITION: Software Engineer II

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Position will build the world-class destination experiences for travelers, which arranges from maps, location info, trip planning and content moderation; ensure valid, accurate and complete information on all listings, from basic listing information to detailed meta data, from geocodes to photos; responsible for developing applications that determine whether content should be automatically published or removed, or moderated by a content specialist or fraud investigator; manage content and integrations with third parties; mine data to learn from it in order to engineer new pieces of information that can be useful for TripAdvisor users; provide the tools that allow our content specialists and fraud investigators to do their jobs effectively and efficiently; identify and collect the most important pieces of content that re needed; work on a wide spectrum of projects from machine learning to backend application development, from front-end development for desktop and mobile to operational tasks in infrastructure; provide technical designs or help other engineers with their technical designs; review code; work closely with the product team and the technical manager to help set the course for the team.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; and two (2) years of work experience including the following: strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, OO Design; Java 1.8 or higher; Python; Shell Script; SQL or Relational Database Development; Linux Development; Hive; Microservices; Tomcat; Working knowledge of version control systems: git or subversion; Building system: gradle or maven; knowledge of performance tuning and system load assessment.
