POSITION: Software Engineer II (Two Positions Available)

JOB DUTIES: Develop new platforms and scalable web site features. Duties include: code at every level- UI, servlets, backend services, databases, tools and ETL to implement software solutions; implement and conceive changes to the software engineering infrastructure for applications using Java, HTML, CSS, and other programming languages; address development issues in a Linux environment; review peer designs for technical issues and submit code for review; work on back-end platform for hotel partners to integrate with the company's site; work on a diverse set of systems, including a high-performance web server, a partner feed processing system, click processing infrastructure, and partner report generation; build and maintain a query report framework and billing system tailored to specific needs; build web tools for scheduling, monitoring, and configuring various reporting and data processing jobs; and develop and enhance a bidding feed processing system; share knowledge and assist teammates in personal development (e.g. mentoring, tech talks); Analyze team's business goals and use knowledge to drive results; build queries and reports to monitor success; own and internalize team processes, help support new engineers as they come up to speed, and look for process and technology improvements; take on complicated, less defined, impactful projects; independently analyze issues and work directly with PMs to define requirements and success criteria and break down projects into smaller tasks; take ownership of an area of code and lead the team with retargeting, feeds, and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; and one (1) year of work experience including the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design; Web development; Full stack software development; Ruby on Rails; Hadoop or Oozie; SQL or Database development; Java; Linux development; HTML; Javascript; CSS.
