DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION: Due to HPR’s exciting growth, we are seeking a Server Assembly Technician & Logistics Coordinator looking to make an impact managing and deploying our industry-leading financial technology networking solutions. This is a newly created, hands-on role, assembling and programming High Performance Computing servers, managing shipping logistics, and owning HPR’s supply chain.

As a Server Assembly Technician & Logistics Coordinator you will:

Build and assemble High Performance Computing servers
Configure servers, install custom software, and conduct system performance testing
Leverage your professional communication skills to engage directly with external vendors, datacenters, global investment banks, electronic trading clients, and various other stakeholders
Monitor and manage inventory pipeline, demand forecasting, and oversee stocking of materials and equipment
Schedule, plan, and track shipment of final products domestically and internationally, including applicable customs/import/export requirements
Oversee and monitor vendor performance for contract compliance (e.g., applicable service level agreements, etc)
Work with confidence in a self-directed and fast-paced environment
Improve the efficiency and accuracy of any processes implemented within the procurement and logistics team using creativity and resourcefulness
Prepare accurate reports for upper management
REQUIRED SKILLS 

3+ years’ experience electronics assembly, including mechanical assembly of enterprise grade servers and barebone PCs
Basic knowledge of Linux, including Command Line Interface
AA in an engineering discipline. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical engineering preferred. BS or MS degree desired
Strong understanding of system hardware and software testing
Solid HW system design and diagnostics skills, as well as a good understanding of BIOS, drivers, and applications
Ability to work logically and systemically, tracking multiple processes with little supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and project management skills
Desire to work in a fast-paced and professional environment 
Ability to lift up 42 lbs from the floor up to a height of 48 inches
DESIRED SKILLS:

Prior experience in a small to medium-size company environment
Familiarity with financial markets and/or capital markets infrastructure
Working knowledge of inventory management systems
Knowledge of global import/export rules, regulations and requirements

    HPR has a very collaborative environment, so I always spend at least a bit of time everyday working with the more junior engineers and our clients. Typically there are a few daily meetings, and in the afternoons I almost always have time to focus on my projects and coding.
