 Role

  • Work closely with product owners, design, marketers, and other engineers to develop a dynamic website showcasing Fitbit’s products and services.
  • Take ownership of front-end components and style implementation
  • Bring new perspective to a long-tenured, experienced team
  • Contribute to product direction, architecture, and implementation
  • Expand our existing set of automated testing for the web

 Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES2015/ES6)
  • Comfortable contributing to all layers of our development stack including JavaScript, HTML/CSS, automated testing, build and deploy tooling.
  • Command of web standards and cross-browser compatibility
  • Able to communicate technical concepts effectively to members of cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and provide leadership towards improvement
  • Experience with client side JavaScript frameworks such as Mithril, React
  • Experience working with Git and the workflows associated with it (branching and merging)
  • Experience with libraries and preprocessors such as SASS/SCSS
  • Photoshop and/or Sketch experience
  • Strong design sense, with an ability to implement designs precisely and consistently across a wide range of devices
  • A desire to build it right the first time, and with an eye towards reuse.
  • Experience with unit testing and test driven development
  • Experience building responsive web pages

 Preferred Skills

  • Experience analyzing and improving website performance
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment
  • Experience with A/B Testing tools such as Google Optimize, Optimizely, Adobe Target, etc.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Websphere Commerce, BigCommerce, Shopify, etc.
  • Experience with Internationalization
  • Existing open source contributions
  • A track record of leading smaller projects with a group of your peers
