JOB DESCRIPTION

Work with NuoDB’s Core Distributed Database Systems team to build company’s distributed, elastic SQL database (NuoDB). Provide backend design and code to internal core system, including NuoDB’s TLS Exchange system and LDAP system, to implement additional features and ensure effective and efficient implementations. Maintain and extend distributed systems algorithms including those for reliable broadcast and distributed lock management. Design and implementation, message-passing and reliable partial broadcast. Debug and extend database system mechanisms including concurrency control, isolation levels, and transactions. Understand and extend complex software systems and develop testable, modular software in an agile environment. Coordinate with QA in the development of end-to-end performance and regression tests. Write unit and functional tests utilizing C++ and Python and related tools and applications. Participate in detailed code and design reviews across core areas of the product.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have 3 years of experience as Software Engineer involved in the design and implementation of software program components using C/C++ and ORACLE database and software testing optimization and software document creation. Must have knowledge in TCP/IP network programming and system development with POSIX file I/O; multi-threading, latching and lock-free data structures; Python, SQL, GIT, Jira, Bamboo, CLion, ASAN, Valgrind, LLDB, GDB, LDAP authentication in C++, JAVA TLS keystores; JDBC and ODBC drivers; methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe); debugging and extending system mechanisms including MVCC concurrency control, isolation levels, transactions, write-ahead logging, XA two-phase commit and RDF triple stores, SPARQL, row store to triple store conversions. 40 hours/week, 9 AM – 5 PM.
