Senior Software Engineer in Test
Senior Software Engineer in Test at Quick Base in Cambridge, MA will serve as a critical member of Quick Base's quality engineering team and will contribute to the automated testing of our next generation platform. The position will apply quality engineering and technical expertise to solve challenging programming and design problems in an effort to make the complex world of data integration accessible to the Company's non-technical users. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing reusable automated test frameworks to drive test automation goals and to support continuous integration and regression testing needs and ensure superb quality; Contributing to both white box and/or UI test automation activities in support of team's objectives; Advocating for quality testing needs within a fast-moving agile environment; Acting in a technical leadership capacity to solve challenging programming and design problems in the quality engineering space; Conducting early project scoping and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify testability goals and automated testing needs across an n-tier platform; Applying software quality best practices to design, influence, and drive the quality and testability of our products and services; and Communicating quality risks and offering mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all committed project work.
Must have: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a closely-related technical or IT field (foreign equivalent accepted), plus 4 years of progressive post-baccalaureate software quality engineering experience as a Software Engineer in Test, Quality Assurance Engineer or similar position. Must also have (or experience must include): Experience designing and creating unit, functional, and integration white box tests using automation frameworks/harnesses such as TestNG and Java; Experience with UI automated testing using tools such as WebDriverIO or Selenium for E2E automation; Experience testing web services/multi-tier architectures (REST); Knowledge and understanding of object oriented programming languages, design patterns, and principles (Java, C#, etc.); Experience with Agile development and Scrum; and Excellent communication skills with the demonstrated capability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
