Smartsheet is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our QA team. This position will focus on building automation for our Converse service offering, which enables users to build conversational business workflows. Our software team is small, highly efficient, and driven by results. We work in an agile environment that stays focused on building great software that makes an impact. We are looking for highly motivated and intelligent individuals.
This position is based in our Boston, MA office and will interface with our team in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Responsibilities:

• Design, document and execute test plan for individual feature areas
• Design and implement various tools for efficient testing
• Design/implement automation frameworks
• Participate in functional, performance, load, stress, security and integration testing
• Work effectively with development and PM counterparts
• Be a customer advocate
• Adopt and establish best engineering practices for the team
• Act as a mentor to others on the test team
  

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software test experience
• Strong coding skills with 3+ years of experience in one of the mainstream OO languages (Java, C#)
• API (REST Web Services) automation
• Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architectures
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent production releases
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, eye for details
• Proven experience with applications in the cloud
• Hands-on experience with test planning and test execution
• Strong understanding of QA processes and concepts including test case preparation, and testing methodologies, agile a plus
• BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Ability to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Nice to Have:

• Experience with UI (Selenium) automation
• Experience with MongoDB or other other non relational databases
