Senior Quality Engineer with Cloud Certification (Work at Home - US)
Description
The Senior Quality Engineer carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
The quality engineer is responsible for the generation of a strategic plan to improve the business processes and increase production output.
Responsibilities
The Senior Quality Engineer performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. May create test data for applications. Documents and works to resolve all complex problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to management. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Acts as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers. Performs complex work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Duties include creating the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability and performance.
Quality engineers are also responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution.
Additional Information: Candidates who require sponsorship for employment must live, or be open to relocation, to Louisville, Kentucky (or other Humana location) for this role once all Associates return to the office
Ideal candidate understands and demonstrates:
- Follows best practices and standards for the testing process
- Understands business requirements/user stories and formulates test scenarios for cross-team collaboration
- Creates and prioritizes test cases for functional, non-functional, and regression testing
- Automation test script creation and execution; experience using automation tools like: Selenium, Tosca, JMeter, LoadRunner, UFT, Katalon Studio or others
- API test creation and execution; experience using tools like SoapUI
- Uses Enterprise determined testing management tools; experience using qTest is ideal
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Performs testing as written and provides documentation of results
- Fully populates necessary data and details when opening defects, per Enterprise standards
- Retests defects and reports findings; collaborates as needed with business and IT
- Determines if/when escalation is needed for defects due to severity or aging
- Partners closely with developers and business to assist in creating thorough and testable user stories
- Creates and deliver all test artifacts, documentation and deliverables
- High quality documentation

Not required but nice to have Certifications (ISTQB Foundation or Advanced, Certified Associate of Software Testing, PMP)
Required Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor's degree
- Requires Cloud professional certification (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- 5 or more years of technical experience
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions
- Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
- Utilizes team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Experience as a Developer on a cross-functional agile team preferred
- Any Cloud Developer or Cloud Engineer certificate (Azure preferred)
