Summary of Position

As Fortify’s Flux Printer platform launches into production, we are building out a support team to keep pace with our expanding product portfolio and customer base.  The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for leading the efforts around demonstrating product reliability across the Fortify platform.  This will involve creating and implementing strategies for demonstrating quality through testing and driving solutions to identified quality problems.  The ideal candidate is capable of working through issues in both the company’s products and internal processes.  An ability to work autonomously, take initiative, exhibit organized project management skills, and actively work in a hands-on manner to execute on the job responsibilities are keys to success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop technical expertise of Fortify’s equipment and materials products to ensure product requirements are appropriate and achievable
  • Establish the current state of the product release process and drive improvements to ensure a higher quality standard of released products
  • Lead the effort to formalize an improved product release process
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop and execute product validation testing of new or updated software, materials, and/or equipment
  • Coordinate record keeping for product validation testing and own documenting and reporting of the results
  • Lead projects to resolve technical issues with the product by coordinating with all stakeholders to establish root cause and corrective action
  • Evaluate and improve Fortify’s technical problem assessment techniques; establish and formalize a mature process
  • Support development and implementation of quality processes to reduce manufacturing timeline while maintaining product reliability 

Candidate Prerequisites

  • 6+ year of experience, with time spent in a QA role supporting complex electromechanical systems
  • Strong external communication skills with an ability to represent the company in front of either customers or suppliers
  • Excellent written and oral internal communication skills, comfortable interacting at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work with multiple teams to implement change and measure results
  • Ability to work independently in a start-up environment
  • BS/MS in Engineering
  • Experience testing or using 3D printers or robotics is highly desired

Location

Our office is located in Hood Park in Charlestown; an up-and-coming area for lab spaces. Hood park throws a lot of tenant events, including summer markets and beer garden nights, as well as appreciation lunches and breakfasts. These events, on top of Fortify's, are always great for team bonding!
