TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, is seeking an experienced technology leader who will lead a growing team of engineers working to reshape the TripAdvisor technology platform. 

As part of the TripAdvisor technology team and reporting to the CTO, you will work closely with the CTO, senior business leaders, and other thought partners throughout TripAdvisor.

• Proactively identify key areas of technical opportunity and effectively drive change across the organization

What you bring to the team 

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science

• A minimum of ten (10) years prior related management experience

• Strong experience with agile software development techniques, developer driven testing, and highly automated test environments.

• Experience with the design and development of e-commerce/transactional sites.

• Experience with a wide range of technologies including Java, Apache and other web technologies.

• Experience with large data sets using Hadoop and/or other NoSQL technologies and web analytics platforms is a plus but not required

• Exceptional problem solving skills with an eye towards delivering solutions quickly.

• Strong understanding of object oriented design patterns and how they are used in software design

• Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills and track record of developing talent

• A demonstrated business mind-set and a track record of generating business results

• The capacity to set a strong vision for technology

• Strong execution/implementation skills

• Ability to communicate and work successfully across functions and global teams

• Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment and influence others to change
