We are building a world-class team of sales-oriented Strategic Application Engineers to be the technical face of Markforged to our largest clients. For those who are mechanically inclined, enjoy challenges, and thrive in a customer-facing environment, you will excel with our Applications team.

Successful candidates are:

  • Mechanically intuitive and comfortable across a range of manufacturing settings. While not always the expert, your level of knowledge allows for productive conversations with professionals across industries.
  • Comfortable in deep technical discussions as well as confident while leading presentations to a range of audiences.
  • Experienced in high level business case development, while navigating large company procurement processes.
  • Driven and self motivated. Able to manage several long term projects with minimal oversight, while keeping up with the day to day requirements of a startup environment.
  • Customer-focused and adept at effectively connecting with a broad group of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain expert technical knowledge and proficiency with Markforged products, applications, and the additive manufacturing industry in general. Leverage this expertise to generate innovative ideas for better utilization of our printers with our customers and partners.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Sales Team to own key accounts, identify opportunities, and scale results quickly across an organization.
  • Develop consultative relationships with existing and future clients, with the goal of providing value through problem solving and improved adoption of Markforged technology.
  • Support internal product, sales, and engineering teams. Drive feedback and content for marketing collateral through high level case studies.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (mechanical preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or technical field
  • Including 2 years of experience in customer facing role or MBA
  • Demonstrated project management abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to present to large groups
  • CAD experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
