Responsibilities:

  • Obtain an understanding of Indigo data infrastructure and data management practices
  • Obtain an understanding of available data types collected by Indigo and how data are used for decision making
  • Review plant microbe interaction literature as relevant to R&D pipeline functions
  • Develop proposal for an experiment to identify genetic markers associated with germplasm by microbe interaction
  • Develop data analysis plan to describe patterns of GxE or genetic plasticity evident in data collected in the microbial product development pipeline
  • Develop proposal for novel analyses that uses new data types (e.g. satellite data, imaging data) to identify patterns of genetic plasticity or GxE in Indigo field trials.
  • Build a framework that combines genetic, environmental, and satellite data to make products that improve grower profitability.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Quantitative Genetics, Population Genetics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics
  • Strong understanding of plant physiology, plant breeding, and population genetics
  • Understanding of plant-microbe interaction at biochemical, molecular and genetics levels
  • 2+ years industry experience
  • Proficient in use of R, Python, etc. to analyze large data sets
  • Experience drawing inference from large genetic datasets
  • Experience designing field-based experiments (out of greenhouse) and evaluating field data
  • Experience with variant calling pipelines and marker design
  • Strong publication record (particularly relating to population or quantitative genetics)
  • Able to be based in Boston

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
