We are seeking a versatile Product Engineer within our Engineering team.  The position will be either based at our Watertown, MA headquarters or work remotely from home in South Korea.  The role may be customized for the successful candidate to be focused on product development and customer-facing application engineering. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in Korean or will not be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applications Engineering (Customer-facing):
    • Provide pre- and post-sales technical consultation on WiTricity’s EV Wireless Charging Reference Design to automotive OEMs and Tier 1s based in Korea  
      • Provide hardware design support to Korean manufacturing partners who are reproducing the WiTricity reference design as-is
      • Provide hardware and software design support to Tier 1 development partners seeking to adapt WiTricity’s reference design to a target vehicle and/or a ground-side charging source
      • Provide hardware and software design support to Infrastructure partners seeking to adapt WiTricity’s reference design for use as a public charging source
    • Visit customers and partners to assess their progress, provide support and deliver training
  • Engineering Development:
    • Contributes to the development of Electrical and Mechanical designs in support of automotive integration of wireless power and associated object detection and positioning systems
    • Organize and perform prototyping and simulation efforts, direct and coordinate in-house and external prototype fabrication efforts
  • Testing:
    • Participates in the testing of EV Wireless Power Hardware and Software Components
    • Responsibilities may include writing and executing test plans and documentation
  • Participate on Korean-based wireless charging standards groups
  • Work closely with WiTricity U.S. HQ Product Development, R&D, and Operations teams to improve products, stay current with technology, and provide regional feedback
  • Partner with our sales team to cultivate new business
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred; BS in Mechanical Engineering may be considered with relevant experience; Advanced degree is highly desirable
  • Fluency in Korean and advanced proficiency in English required; Korean native speaker strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Korean)
  • Must have experience working within a technology company
  • Experience with automotive and/or wireless charging highly desirable
  • Experience working in an engineering lab strongly preferred
  • Good business acumen and familiarity with Korean business customs
  • 25 - 50% international travel
