HubSpot is looking for a Privacy Specialist to provide a key data privacy and protection support role on the HubSpot Legal Team. Reporting to our Data Protection Officer and working with our Legal and cross-functional team, you will have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Documenting and maintaining records regarding privacy reviews, risk assessments, controls, and other program components, including a data inventory and related data flow diagrams and documentation
  • Triaging requests from customers, partners, and third parties and responding to data subject requests plus third party vendor risk assessments
  • Assisting with conducting privacy gap analyses against our privacy framework to identify opportunities to enhance organizational privacy protections
  • Helping prepare and produce privacy program training materials and documentation
  • Providing first-line support to cross-functional team members on data privacy matters, from product/engineering teams to sales/services
  • Working with other various business teams on a variety of legal processes, risks and opportunities as needed (the obligatory catch-all)

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience, with in-house technology company experience a plus
  • CIPP certification desired (but not required) attribute; must be willing to take additional training and relevant courses as necessary
  • Must have experience with implementing data protection and privacy processes
  • Must be generally familiar with data protection laws and regulations, particularly the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (the ‘GDPR’) and the ePrivacy Regulation.
  • Ability to handle a broad range of data privacy and protection matters and work efficiently and effectively in a crazy fast-paced, and transparent environment
  • Ability to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
  • Ability to develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
  • Ability to effectively handle high-volume and prioritization of tasks
  • Strong communication skills, especially via an internal wiki, Slack and Zoom (it’s how we communicate)
  • Superior organizational skills and desire to learn quickly
