What you'll do:

As a Mobile Application Developer, you will be working alongside other engineers, the product development team, and the QA team to design, develop and maintain high quality, secure mobile applications. Consequently, you are responsible for creating our next generation mobile applications while continuing to support existing products.

Interface and User Experience Development

• Participate in product development sessions to determine software specifications and techniques required to enhance user experience (UX)
• Develop wireframes and prototypes that demonstrate possible solutions to business requirements
• Design and develop user interfaces (UI) to enhance user experience while conforming to established guidelines

Product Development

• Design and develop mobile applications for Android or iOs mobile operating system
• Create applications that meet the technical requirements for successful placement on the online application store (Google Play or Apple Store)
• Develop native software code to take advantage of the full capabilities of mobile devices
• Design and create software solutions to consume content supplied via RESTful APIs
• Develop secure, scalable, and highly fault tolerant code

Product Review

• Evaluate and update existing mobile applications to reflect current requirements and best practices
• Maintain currency with software development tools, techniques and policies for mobile application development
• Research emerging trends in mobile application development and recommend product improvements

Product Quality

• Liaise with the software quality assurance team throughout the development process to test and fix/improve components where necessary
• Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions and improve the robustness of software products
• Troubleshoot and debug software code to optimize overall performance
• Document version and feature improvements across software releases
• Maintain software source code revision monitoring within existing version control system

Who you are:

• At least 4 years’ experience developing scalable Android or Apple iOS applications
• In-depth understanding of Java or objective-c and Swift
• Extensive experience working with JSON
• Experience with integrating third party libraries and APIs
• Proficiency implementing networking libraries including Fuel, Retrofit2 and Volley or Alamofire
• Proficiency implementing observer patterns using ReactiveX
• Keen analytical and problem-solving skills
• Portfolio of published applications on Google Play Store or App Store
• BSc. degree in Computer Science or other relevant field(s)

Above and Beyond:

• Knowledge of Kotlin or SWIFTUI
• Experience in using Android Data Binding Library or in OS built in frameworks
• Familiarity with the Material Design guidelines for Android or MVC, MVVM modules
• Experience working within an agile software development system
• Experience with secure coding standards
