 Job Purpose

Engineering Technician – Level C will support maintenance, design, manufacturing, product development projects, and operating production equipment. S/he will perform maintenance on all manufacturing equipment, operate filament extruder / production / analytical and machine shop equipment. S/he will be responsible for fabrication of machine and tool components.. S/he will work directly with the Plant Manager to ensure operational goals and objectives are either met or exceeded, while simultaneously supporting documentation and efficiency initiatives. S/he will also work with engineering to solve problems and lead special projects. This is a highly independent role, requiring attention to detail and organizational discipline.

You Will:

  • Ensure all production lines are fully functional and provide maintenance when required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on extruder, CNC, lathe, and other operations assets.
  • Maintain maintenance records and report any equipment issues to Plant Manager.
  • Support design improvements for operations equipment, including fiber production lines, respooling, QC, unspooling, and extruder.
  • Use SolidWorks to design new tooling and equipment to support operations.
  • Operate machine shop equipment to manufacture parts.
  • Support engineering in machining of new tooling and equipment when required.
  • Support development of new materials by documenting test results and report out to engineering and management. 

We're looking for people who:

  • Learn new technologies quickly
  • Have enthusiasm for mechanical engineering and 3D printing
  • Minimum – 2-year degree in engineering and design related fields
  • Additive manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated success with documentation and report writing
  • CNC manufacturing equipment expertise
  • Materials background – preferred plastics
