The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key factory staff member responsible for the overall performance, development and maintenance of the plant’s technical resources and capability (both equipment and personnel).

What will you own?

  • Maintain a safe workplace at all times by compliance with all applicable OSHA and local safety rules. Work to prevent injuries!
  • Support production supervision by ensuring safety, quality, service, and productivity goals are developed and maintained across three shifts.
  • Develop factory KPIs designed to improve safety, material quality, and efficiency
  • Own factory process performance and efficiency
  • Coordinate engineering efforts for continuous improvement of manufacturing technology
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets and capital programs
  • Coordinate training activities on the floor in collaboration with other managers, supervisors, and leads.
  • Be accountable for hardware, data systems and processing development for new product introductions
  • Ensure 5S standards are developed, implemented, and maintained throughout the factory floor.
  • Help initiate, champion and maintain established lean flow lines, identify and troubleshoot issues affecting flow outside of the established lean/flow process, and correct any issues.
  • Partner with HR to manage personnel, production output, attendance, and quality issues on the team.
  • Work with Quality, Customer Service and Engineering to determine root cause through failure investigation, and develop and implement corrective and preventative actions, as required.

What you have:

  • Have a BS degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Have 5+ years of manufacturing production and engineering management experience
  • Are experienced with factory safety requirements, SDS and accident investigations
  • Have experience with 5S and lean manufacturing
  • Have OSHA training and understand the OSHA Code of Federal Regulations
  • Understand Lean Manufacturing principles, 6S, Six Sigma, and Kanban Systems
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
  • ISO management and implementation knowledge
  • Bilingual English & Spanish preferred
  • We use Apple computers and Google collaboration tools. While experience with these tools is not required, the ideal candidate will be excited to broaden their knowledge and embrace change.
