Job Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Business Systems, the Manager, Release and Quality Engineering will provide oversight and execution of quality assurance and release automation initiatives for Toast’s Business Systems team. The Manager, Release and Quality Engineering will supervise a team of QA Engineers responsible for ensuring the quality and stability of all applications within the Business System’s portfolio. The role will also work closely with his/her peers within business systems to establish standards and best practices around release management and release automation and enforce good practices around Agile software development.

As Manager, Release and Quality Engineering for Business Systems you will:

  • Manage the daily quality assurance efforts of a team of QA engineers responsible for evaluating, validating and testing internal development and administration initiatives (Salesforce.com, NetSuite, ServiceNow)
  • Collaborate on, execute, and maintain the vision for a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery pipeline for Salesforce.com
  • Own the release management lifecycle for Toast’s business systems (Salesforce.com, NetSuite, ServiceNow)
  • Establish standards and best practices for release management and provide processes and tools for deploying features and functionality across Toast’s business systems ecosystem
  • Design and implement test automation programs and practices for Toast’s Business Systems
  • Design and implement defect reduction and prioritization programs
  • Monitor and ensure the stability of Toast’s business systems
  • Assist in managing projects and interdependencies and ensure adherence to milestones and release integrity

Do you have the right ingredients?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years in a quality assurance or software engineering lead/management role
  • 3+ years experience working with Salesforce.com
  • 5+ years working in an Agile SCRUM environment
  • 8-10 years in a software development or information systems environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, act independently and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with Workato
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Provar, Selenium or similar frontend testing suite
