Java Software Engineer - Cyber Triage
The cyber forensics group at Basis Technology is focused on providing easy to use and extensible tools to make corporate IT, law enforcement, and other investigators more efficient.
We have an opening for a Java engineer to work on our incident response and open source digital forensics software. You will learn about recovering deleted data and where evidence is stored. You will get to work with streaming data and scaling databases. Some of the projects will involve contributing to open source software, including Autopsy and The Sleuth Kit.
Skills Desired
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 3 to 5 years years of programming experience with Java or similar language.
- Minimum one (1) year database systems experience with SQL Server, MSSQL, PostgreSQl, or SQLite.
- Minimum one (1) year of building user interfaces with JavaFX, Swing, or similar system.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object oriented design
- A proven ability to work independently and under tight timelines.
- The ability to convey technical information effectively and concisely to a wide range of audiences
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with Agile software development strategies and methods
