As an Integration Engineer, you will work on all aspects of our surgical system including software, controls, and electrical and mechanical hardware. You’ll have a working knowledge of how all the components, subsystems, and software work together to make Vicarious Surgical’s robot run.

Your work will have a critical impact at the center of our product development team. Your focus will be on taking the output from various projects, piecing them together, and making them work together as a system. This job requires a wide breadth of skills, ranging from mechanical prototyping to system-level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with the different engineering teams to build our surgical robotic system
  • Develop and run system level tests to verify performance of the robotic platform
  • Identify and root-cause problems that prevent subsystems from working together
  • Work with the relevant engineering team to resolve subsystem problems
  • Provide support during system demonstrations and studies

About You

  • Minimum of a B.S. in electrical, mechanical or computer engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A strong foundation in basic electrical engineering
  • Experience writing and debugging software using C or Python
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build and debug electromechanical systems
  • A strong understanding of linear control techniques
  • Experience with CAD
  • Experience with part prototyping and fabrication
  • Cross-disciplinary work experience and/or personal projects

Nice-to-Have

  • Robotic systems or medical device work experience
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
