Job Summary

The Information System Security Manager (ISSM) is responsible for ensuring that security considerations are taken into account during all phases of the system development lifecycle. The ISSM serves as the principal advisor for all matters related to the security of the information systems under the ISSM’s purview. The ISSM obtains and maintains authorization to operate (ATO) of systems using the Risk Management Framework process and agency-specific implementation guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security architecture (SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Firewall, IDS/IPS).

  • Provide technical oversight and prioritization of the work of one or more ISSOs, system administrators, and network administrators.

  • Create policies and procedures related to the security of the information system and ensure compliance with government requirements.

  • Test required controls, record assessments, and maintain POA&M.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Security Control Assessors and Authorizing Officials.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.

  • 3 years of experience implementing the requirements of NIST 800-37, NIST 800-171, or similar regulatory framework.

  • Prior experience implementing and assessing compliance with ACAS (Tenable) and HBSS (McAfee ePO) requirements.

  • CISSP or other certification which meets the IAM III standard from DOD 8570.01-M.

  • Current Secret personnel security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret and additional accesses as necessary. Current Top Secret preferred.
