Responsibilities:

  • Master Indigo's Focused Sourcing approaches, CSDB, LIMS, & Indigo reference genomes
  • Obtain a full understanding of nomination process and pipeline
  • Review current fungal pipeline and propose addition and/or improvements to in vitro assays for fungi in collaboration with pipeline teams
  • Devise target traits for fungal impact on plant
  • Integrate fungal perspective to expand scope of existing projects in Research and Scientific Insights team
  • Leverage Indigo fungal collection to begin generating insights into candidates for specific target products
  • Utilize knowledge acquired from scientific insights to nominate fungal candidates for combinations of microbes
  • Designs and implements experiments to test early pipeline hypotheses for fungal candidates in field testing stage
  • Develop strategy to drive to mechanism of fungal candidates
  • Build a robust research program that integrates fungal-plant and fungal-bacterial perspectives for development of transformative products

Qualifications:

  • Deep domain knowledge of fungal plant interaction
  • Understanding of how g. fungal genome variation -> phenotype variation 
  • Ph.D. Plant Pathology or Fungal Biology or Fungal Genetics or Fungal Microbiology
  • Post-Doctoral experience 0-4 years
  • Culture/wet lab experience with filamentous fungi
  • Experience with plants, ideally experience with crops
  • Knowledgeable about fungal eco/evo dynamics & community ecology
  • Strong computational skills

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
