Full Stack Developer

As a Full Stack Developer you will be an important part of the Internal Tools team at Cogito and will be responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications and working alongside graphic designers for web design features, among other duties. You will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.
You will work closely with the Machine Learning and Annotation Teams and your work with be crucial to enabling them to accelerate in developing our core company IP. We are looking for a highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and back end programming as well as with experience developing effective user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and who is passionate about developing state-of-the-art technology.
Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of robust and effective user-interfaces for various internal tools including an internal annotation tool used for labeling large volumes of audio data to enable machine learning
- Collaboration with UX design, machine learning and other engineering teams to enable ever-improving internal workflows
- Developing front end website architecture
- Designing user interactions on web pages
- Developing back end website applications
- Creating servers and databases for functionality including APIs
- Designing and developing APIs
- Meeting both technical and consumer needs
- Ensuring responsiveness of applications
- Working alongside graphic designers for web design features
- Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
- Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
Requirements:
- Some education in Computer Science, Math, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with 4+ years of web software development experience
- Familiarity with principles of good user experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Experience in delivering software and services in AWS cloud environment
Skills:
- Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with Python frameworks like Django and Flask
- Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as React / Redux, Ember or Angular JS,
- Proficiency with server side languages such as Python or Java
- Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless technologies
- Experience/understanding of AWS and public cloud ecosystem
- Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
- Excellent verbal communication skills
